Rapid Math 2026

The Rapid Mathematics Assessment (RMA) is DepEd’s quick check of numeracy, developed with USAID ABC+ and UP NISMED. It started in 2023 for Grades 1–3 and now covers Grades 1–10, at the beginning and end of the school year.

Task areas in Grade 1

The Grade 1 form has nine tasks: number identification and discrimination, fractions, addition, subtraction, geometric representation (shapes), missing shapes in patterns, time, linear measurement and mass. Grade 2 has up to eleven tasks. DepEd scoresheets count a task as passed when the learner gets 75% or more of it right.

The five levels

Level
Emerging (Not Proficient)
Emerging (Low Proficient)
Developing (Nearly Proficient)
Transitioning (Proficient)
At Grade Level (Highly Proficient)

The percentage cut-offs are set in DepEd’s scoresheets; ask your child’s school for the official level.

When it happens in 2026–2027

Division memos for SY 2026–2027 list the RMA with the Phil-IRI and CRLA as beginning-of-year assessments in the first week of classes in June 2026, with an end-of-year assessment later.

Questions parents and teachers ask

What is the Rapid Math Assessment?

A short numeracy assessment DepEd gives at the beginning and end of the school year to find learners who need extra support in mathematics.

Which grades take the RMA in 2026?

Grades 1 to 10, with separate forms per key stage. Teacher Daisy’s free check covers the Grade 1–3 task areas.

What is a passing score for an RMA task?

DepEd scoresheets report a task as passed when the learner gets 75% or more of it correct. Teacher Daisy’s check uses 4 questions per task and passes a task at 3 of 4.

How can I practise at home?

Use short daily practice with real objects, money and a clock, the free maths worksheets for your child’s quarter, and the free RMA-style check to see which task areas need work.

This page explains DepEd’s published assessment process in plain words. Teacher Daisy’s free checks follow the same structure with original passages and questions; they are informal home checks, not official DepEd results. Always ask your child’s school for the official result.
